On display.
Out of sight.
The useful starting point is what belongs in the room. A balance of open and closed storage can be discussed around your space and what you need to keep there.
Open shelving
List the books and objects you want on display. Include the height and depth of larger items when you send your ideas.
Closed cupboards
Think about games, paperwork or equipment you would rather put away. Explain how often you need to reach them.
Screen and cables
Send the screen dimensions and a photograph of sockets, cables and nearby fittings. Discuss access before deciding on the cabinetry.

Before you enquire
What should I send about my television?
Send the screen size, or the model name if you know it, and where you want it to sit. Say whether you have a soundbar, games console or cables that need a place to go. Those details shape the shelves around it.
Do both alcoves need to be the same?
No. Many rooms have alcoves of different widths or depths, and each can be planned to suit. Send a photo of both so Tom can see how they sit either side of the chimney breast.
Can I combine open shelves and cupboards?
Yes, and many people do. Open shelves suit books and things you like to display. Cupboards hide clutter. Tell Tom what you would keep in each and he can discuss how to divide the space.
Do you cover Haywards Heath?
Yes. Tom is based in Burgess Hill and serves Haywards Heath, Hassocks, Hurstpierpoint, Cuckfield, Lindfield, Ditchling, Keymer and north Brighton. Send your postcode with your enquiry and he can confirm.
Tell Tom what you have in mind.
Send photographs, rough dimensions and your postcode to start the conversation.
