Get the details together.
A kitchen enquiry benefits from a clear plan and a clear list of responsibilities. Use these prompts to show what is selected and what still needs discussing.
Plans and products
Send your supplier drawings if you have them. Include the unit layout and details of the worktops, handles and appliances you have selected.
The existing room
Photograph the kitchen, walls and floor. Explain what is being kept, what is being replaced and any preparation already planned.
The fitting scope
List the work you want Tom to quote and any other trades already involved. Ask who is responsible for each part before the scope is agreed.

Before you enquire
Can I send a supplier plan?
Yes, please. A plan from your kitchen supplier shows the layout and the units, which makes the conversation much clearer. Photographs of the room are helpful too.
Should I include appliance details?
Yes. List the appliances you have chosen and any you are still deciding on. Their sizes affect how the units are fitted around them.
What about other trades?
Kitchens often involve plumbing, electrics and tiling as well as carpentry. Tell Tom what is already arranged and what is not, so the scope of his work is clear from the start.
What if I have not selected the kitchen yet?
That is fine. Tell Tom what you are considering, and send photographs of the room and rough measurements. You can talk through the fitting side before you place any order.
Tell Tom what you have in mind.
Send photographs, rough dimensions and your postcode to start the conversation.
